Our History

Our History
“In the beginning……..there was nothing, there was no one, except for a small group of soccer starved immigrants and there was the Rev. Father Tito Cecilia.”

Through this small group with inspired leadership of the Rev. Father a team was put into the 1961 season of the then Northern Victoria Soccer Federation, coached by the unforgettable Enzo Murador.

This then was the beginning of soccer in Tatura. Support was slow to grow and acceptance by Tatura residents brought up on the oval ball code even slower. The club has matured so well as to be a leading soccer club respected in both country and metropolitan soccer games.

The Australian community of Tatura has taken the club to its heart to such an extent that the fortunes of the Soccer Club now bring as much joy and despair to the Town and district as do the activities of the Tatura Bulldogs.

Today the club has grown to include members consisting of parents and teams in Seniors, Reserves, Women, 17’s, 15’s, 13’s, and 11’s (boys and girls).

The Ibises are a multicultural club with incredible pride, passion and a steely determination to succeed both on and off the park.

The clubs recent move to the Frank Howley oval to new facilities and lighting make us the envy of many clubs throughout the district.
